Q: Can I do this myself?

A: Sometimes. Although we believe that no claim is too small, there are circumstances when it is more beneficial for our company NOT to get involved. If our involvement in your claim may delay or damage the processing of your settlement we’ll tell you.

In fact, Epic has learned that these claims require such an extensive amount of coordination that we have formed a Property Managers Program unique to the industry. Additional Living Expense (ALE)

In the event your home is uninhabitable due to a loss while repairs are being made, your homeowner’s policy entitles you to the additional expenses of living elsewhere. Although the amounts and terms of this coverage differ from policy to policy, you are generally granted moving costs and expenses to cover lodging, meals, and other unavoidable living expenditures. Under these circumstances, insurance companies are responsible for maintaining your normal standard of living. For example:

The Additional Living Expense should reflect the value of your dwelling at the time of your loss; whether you live in a $3 million dollar mansion or a $250,000 condominium. Property Managers Program

EPIC understands the important role of property managers and their responsibilities to the communities they represent. While results may vary from firm to firm, it has been our experience that EPIC usually recovers 200% to 300% more than the insurance company’s initial offer.
